London United maintained their 100% start to their inaugral BBL Championship campaign with a 76-70 victory over the Scottish Phoenix Honda Rocks at the Braehead Arena on Sunday evening.

A closely fought first half saw the visitors start strongly with a 10-0 tear to open the game, but the home side were able to claw back into the game, and go into the interval tied at 37-37.

The visitors began to stretch ahead in the third quarter and lead by seven points at 60-53 going into the final stanza. A 7-0 London burst to start the final quarter took the score out to 67-53 in London's favour, and despite the Rocks valiant attempt to get back into the game, they could not close the deficit as the visitors held on for the win.

With the midweek signing of GB International Chris Haslam, United were able to get the ball inside more and create options for themselves and that was without the injured Bryant Feggins out with knee trouble.

GB International Tarick Johnson led all scorers in the game with an impressive 26 point haul for London, while Rob Yanders led the Rocks scoring with 19.

Credit again needs to go to the whole team after putting up a great defensive display restricting Rocks to only 70 points.

United now travel to another new BBL franchise Worcester Wolves on Saturday who were promoted with United from EBL Division 1. Worcester have started well having won one and lost one after beating Chester Jets over the weekend.
