Sheffield Sharks handed London United their first defeat of the season in the BBL Championship with a 97-89 victory at the SPACE Centre on Saturday evening.
Sheffield started the game the stronger, and were able to open up a 48-42 lead going into the second half. The visitors continued to score, but could not shake off a resilient London outfit. The home side clawed their way back into the game off the back of a 6-0 finish to the third quarter to tie the game up at 72-72 going into the final stanza.
In the final period however, Sheffield broke the game open with an 11-2 tear midway through the period to take
the score out to 91-82. London valiantly attempted to close the gap once more, and got to within seven points at 87-94, but the visitors sealed the victory from the foul line.
Blake Shelton was the star man for Sheffield bagging 30 points personal, while Tarick Johnson netted 17 for London.
