Worcester Wolves (Tom Perkes 29, Valdas Urbonavicius 12, Andy Harper 9, Solomon Sheard 9)

This game offered all the excitement of a great basketball game. A tight first quarter saw the teams trade baskets. It was Tarick Johnson that kept London United on track with a pull up three in the dying stages of the quarter only for the officals to make a change and call it 2pts. A 13-13 close to the first quarter was an indication of how tight this game was going to be.

A 6 point run from the in-form Johnson nosed United in front, 23-18 in the early stages of the second quarter but Wolves still refused to lie down and brought things back, all square at 25. Against a 6 point stretch, United edged in front and again Wolves replied. The quarter closed with a slight advantage to the home side, 35-32.

In the third quarter it was the turn of the visitors to put the pressure on and it was 17-6 run that had them back in the show down until United hit right back with a 10-2 run of their own. Michael Gayle nailed 3pts for Wolves at the very end of the quarter and honours were even at 54.

London United sprung open the last quarter in the 6th minute when 5 points widened the lead to 7 points. Again the Wolves bit back with a 10-2 run at 69-71, but Marlin Capers kept Untied on song at 71-71. A foul by Worcester's Matt Collins put Chris Haslam on the line in the last minute and Haslam sunk both free-throws to give United a 2 point lead. With just seconds on the clock, Wolves' Lithuanian star, Valdas Urbonavicius swished a 3 pointer for the visitors but failing to get back with just 1.5 seconds remaining, an unmarked Chris Haslam received an arrow like pass to make the easy lay up for the victory, 75-74.
