Plymouth Raiders (Gaylon Moore 20, Andrew Lasker 20, Carlton Aaron 17)

Kularoos Plymouth Raiders moved into a tie of fourth spot in the league with Springfield Honda Newcastle Eagles and London United after beating United in the capital on Sunday evening.

With United short of both scoring guard Philip Perre (Achilles) and big man Bryant Feggins (tonsillitis) they were short of fire power.

The match was tight throughout as neither side could put together runs long enough to break away from the other. In the end the decisive burst came deep in the fourth quarter as the Raiders turned a 58-61 deficit into a 65-61 lead.

Despite two threes by Chris Haslem, United wouldn’t lead again and it was left to Andrew Lasker to seal the match from the free throw line in the closing seconds. The win is Raiders third consecutive in the league, while United have now lost five of their last six in all competitions.

Tarick Johnson led all scorers for United with 23 points whilst both Moore and Lasker hit 20 apiece for the Raiders.

United have not won a home game in three and now face an away trip to Guildford Heat on Saturday evening and then a home game in the National Trophy to Leicester Riders at their Hackney home at 6.30pm on Sunday the 19th November.
